Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-11-03
Huebook is a color-by-number app for adults. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what is and is not collected.
What we do not do
- No ads and no ad networks.
- We never sell your data.
- An account is optional. The whole app works without one.
Your artwork and progress
Your artwork and progress are stored on your device. If you do not sign in, we never receive them. Exports and shares happen only when you choose to share.
Optional account and sync
You can sign in with Apple or Google to back up your artwork and use it on all your devices. When you do:
- We receive a stable account identifier from Apple or Google. We do not read or store your name or email address. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may give us a relay address, which we also do not store.
- Your artwork (colors, layers and thumbnails) and its progress are uploaded so your other devices can download them.
- We keep a record of your active sign-in sessions and of your Huebook Plus purchase so it can unlock on all your devices.
This data is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and is used only to run sync and Plus. You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time in the app's settings.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. This deletes your account, your synced artwork and your sessions from our servers, and disconnects Sign in with Apple. Artwork on your device stays on your device. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; manage that in the App Store or Google Play. If you no longer have the app, email us from the support page and we will delete your account. Backups of our database roll off within 30 days.
Device backups are handled by your operating system. On iOS, standard iCloud or computer backups may include the app's data, including your artwork. On Android, the app opts out of Google backup and device transfer, so your artwork stays on the device and Plus is re-checked with Google Play via Restore purchases.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand how the app is used, Huebook sends anonymous usage events. Each install has a random, pseudonymous install ID that is not linked to your name, email or any account. Events contain no names, emails or free text. They describe actions such as opening and completing pages, switching modes, using hints, viewing the paywall, starting a trial or purchasing (including the plan and whether Plus is active), and exporting or sharing.
Events we record:
app_opened, page_opened, page_started, region_filled, page_completed, mode_switched, hint_used, numbers_wrong_tap, onboarding_completed, paywall_viewed, paywall_dismissed, trial_started, purchased, restore_tapped, export_finished, share_tapped.
Analytics are processed by PostHog, in the United States. Our analytics provider receives your IP address with each request as part of normal network communication. We configure it not to store IP addresses and we disable IP-based location lookup. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
You can turn analytics off at any time with the usage data toggle in the app's settings.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), under their terms and privacy policies. We never see your card or payment details. Our server checks the store's signed purchase record to confirm whether Huebook Plus is active and to unlock downloadable content.
Children
Huebook is rated 4+ but is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device. Synced data is removed when you delete your account (see above). To have anonymous analytics tied to your install ID deleted, contact us via the support page.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above.
